EDT 786: Applications of Computers in Education

Artifact: Newsletter made in Word. Download at the right NOTE: Linking is lost in the PDF format.

Artifact Reflection

I. What is the artifact from this course?
The artifact I selected from EDL 786 is the Newsletter made in word.

II. Why is this artifact selected?
The newsletter represents the only artifact that made me learn something that I did not already know how to do in word.

III. What learning or understanding occurred through the selected artifact?
Physical pain withstanding,
there probably is not a more frustrating computer activity than using newspaper columns in word (although navigating the ODE website is close). I had abandoned it years ago and started using Print Shop to create newsletter type documents. During the course of this class I learned the trick is in defining proper breaks.

IV. In what ways (personally and/or professionally) are you different as a result of this learning or understanding?
I have now used word at my school more effectively by using the breaks and linking techniques used in this assignment.
