Beliefs About How Children Learn (Entry)

Belief

Behavior

I believe that children learn in many ways, and most children learn in multiple ways.

I utilize a variety of techniques in each lesson.

I believe children learn the most by teaching each other.

I use as many cooperative group activities as I can.

I believe children learn by gathering experience in the subject (i.e. seeing as many variations as possible).

I maximize examples to show students as many possible variations as I can imagine. I then assign quality assignments that reflect the general ideas.

I believe that for each statement above, there are children that may be educationally harmed by the behaviors.

I use activities that I know may not generally be effective, but are aimed at students I know are struggling in a particular area. I try to set aside time to teach one-on-one in such cases.
