Beliefs About Education as a Profession (Exit)

Belief

Behavior

I believe that the best teachers understand their content area.

I read texts on teaching my content areas, read online journals about the profession, and discuss pedagogy with colleagues.

I believe that teachers should be authentic people and not act much different in the classroom as outside.

I form rapport with students and let them know my weaknesses and flaws. I allow them to see positive relationships with fellow teachers and administrators.

I believe education is not a learned skill but rather a cultivated talent that some but not all people have.

I support legislation that makes it easier for persons with bachelor degrees in other fields to get teaching licenses.
